The Chassis

The chassis for the "Yellow Fury" project is pretty much a stock chassis. Other than sub frame connectors and some floor pan reenforcement that was done back when the roll cage was added. The cage is comprised of 8 points, and does limit and easy exit from the vehicle.

The chassis was stripped to bare metal to prep it for the 393 motor, and will remain pretty much gutted for the 302 motor. We are adding a passenger seat back to the car in place of the dual bottle nitrous setup. We have moved the single bottle to the trunck with the battery.

We have also put the back seat back in the car. Although some cutting had to be done to get it over the seats! New carpet and seats will adorn the front of the car, with gauges yet to come. Probably just a tach, fuel pressure, and oil pressure gauge for now.

I will post some pictures in the upcoming weeks to show progress on the car!

UPDATE 1/19/2004:

The chassis was sold to a friend just south of Gainesville. He should have it ready for the 2004 race season, for those of you that frequent Gainesville, look for the grey primered notchback, and ask to take a look at the motor, you will definately be surprised at Rob's work!

Here is a shot of the front of the car with everything stripped. We are currently prepping the car for another coat of yellow paint. Sitting for almost 3 years has taken its toll on this paint!
A shot from the rear. Oxidation has really taken its toll on this car!! The lines on the car are almost perfect, advantages of being garaged for nearly 3 years!!
A shot of the interior. Notice red a/c vent. The 393 motor required lots of gauges! Trying to get the interior back to somewhat being normal! We are going to add the passenger seat back also, now that the dual nitrous tanks are gone.
A shot of the newly re-inserted back seat. Not that it would be functional or anything, just thought we would put it back!
