Well project 393 has come and gone, and
the race chassis still remains. So we have decided to
change motors and run a simple 302 motor in the race chassis,
modified a little of course! We are starting with a short
block and a C4 tranny that we picked up from a friend
for pretty cheap. Although this is a new project, it is
one of many that we are currently working on, so a tight
budget is definately in order!
We will be using a set of slightly altered
GT40P heads, and running a small Ford Motorsports "E"
cam. We are wanting to produce large amounts of torque
with this motor/tranny combo, so horsepower will have
to take the back seat for now!
We decided to go for a carbed setup due
to the fact that the car is completely gutted already,
and returning it to EFI would be very time consuming and
not worth the effort in my eyes! So we have chosen a Holley
650 double pumper to set atop the Victor Jr. intake for
now, hopefully this combo will net some good numbers,
will have to wait and see.
Other than that everything is pretty much
open right now, we are getting parts as they come in,
so stay tuned!!
UPDATE 1/19/2004:
The chassis was sold to a friend just south
of Gainesville. He should have it ready for the 2004 race
season, for those of you that frequent Gainesville, look
for the grey primered notchback, and ask to take a look
at the motor, you will definately be surprised at Rob's
work!
